FPP dome reinforcement solution wins the CAMX Combined Strength Award 2024

We are excited to announce that our Fiber Patch Placement (FPP) dome reinforcement solution has won the CAMX Combined Strength Award 2024! This recognition highlights the success of our collaborative project with Roth Composite Machinery GmbH and CIKONI GmbH, where we achieved a significant 15% reduction in fiber material usage for a composite hydrogen pressure vessel.

Dome reinforcements – less material, more storage volume

Using Fiber Patch Placement Technology, we applied dome reinforcements on vessel liners, which were then filament-wound using a short, adjusted winding program. This innovation not only reduces the usage of expensive carbon fiber material, but also provides more storage volume within the same outer diameter.

The award was presented at the Composites and Advanced Materials Exhibition (CAMX) in San Diego on September 12th, 2024. We extend our gratitude to the CAMX Award Committee for recognizing the potential of this solution to transform composite tank manufacturing. This supports the green hydrogen revolution and aligns with the industry’s growing focus on sustainability
