Great interest in Fiber Patch Placement at Composites Europe

Cevotec’s trade fair presentation of the Fiber Patch Placement production system SAMBA in a virtual reality preview attracted great interest. With the aid of special VR glasses, visitors were able to get a detailed picture of the production process and the production system.

At Composites Europe 2016, which took place in Düsseldorf end of November, visitors had the unique opportunity to see Cevotec‘s Fiber Patch Placement production system SAMBA in a virtual reality environment. „SAMBA and the matching CAD-CAM-Software ARTIST STUDIO will officially be launched at JEC World 2017 in Paris“, reports Felix Michl, CTO of Cevotec. “Through the virtual environment we were able to convey to the visitors a realistic picture of the future system and its features. The virtual environment helps to make the new technology tangible and understandable.”

The great interest in the diverse possibilities offered by Fiber Patch Placement technology for space, aeronautic, automotive, medical technology or the sporting goods sector was demonstrated by a considerable queue of visitors. “Even BMWi State Minister Iris Gleike took a virtual glance at the production process,” says Michl. “We see this strong interest at Composites Europe as a very positive sign for the official product launch at JEC in March 2017 in Paris. Many of the Düsseldorf visitors have already announced their intention to come and see SAMBA live in Paris.”
