Dear friends of Fiber Patch Placement,

A turbulent year comes soon to a close. Facing continued supply chain disruptions and cost inflation, the composites industry in particular has to deal with increasing raw material prices. The efficient use of the precious fiber material becomes more important than ever before. We at Cevotec enable composites manufacturers to do just that: save on material. Automation with Fiber Patch Placement typically reduces production and cutting-related scrap by >90% compared to manual lay-up processes. That’s one of the ways we support our customers to reach their environmental and cost targets.

In this newsletter, we dare to look back on the positives of 2022. Despite all challenges, we made significant progress in important projects that serve our customers, and we’ve grown the cevoTeam by 25%. I am grateful for what our team has achieved, and for the trustful collaboration with our customers and partners throughout the year.

2022 at a cevoGlance

We would like to use the peaceful pre-Christmas season to look back at the year 2022. Besides promising R&D projects, we commissioned two SAMBA systems at The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR, USA) and Leonardo (Italy), advanced our industrial solution on hydrogen tank reinforcements and welcomed six new colleagues to the cevoTeam. We also would like to thank you, our customers, business partners and collaborators for your support of and your trust in our work here at Cevotec! Happy Christmas from the entire cevoTeam!

New Team Lead for Production Technology

In October Tomás Giesecke joined Cevotec as Team Lead for Production Technology. After working for seven years in South America as an engineer, servicing and designing mining equipment, he moved to Germany and gained a lot of experience in the field of automation technology during his work at KraussMaffei and Giesecke+Devrient.

Benvingut, Sergi!

Our application development team got a new colleague beginning of October: Sergi Lopez Vidal joined as Composite Project Engineer. He recently finished his master thesis at Bauhaus Luftfahrt and graduated from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya with a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.

See you around

After a busy event autumn, we are looking forward to preparing the upcoming events next year. Our CEO Thorsten Groene will speak live at the SAMPE Materials Innovation Forum in Huntington Beach, US, on January 25-26 about our reinforcement solution for hydrogen tanks. In February, we will exhibit at the Aeronautics & Space Innovative Technology Summit (AITS) in Bremen. And certainly we’re looking forward to meeting you at the JEC World in April!
